A neighborhood
cafe is coming to
East Kensington

The building is ours, the permits are approved, and the espresso machine is waiting. Now we're looking for the operating partner who will open the doors with us.

NOW ACCEPTING OPERATING PARTNER APPLICATIONS

Ever dreamed of owning a cafe?

Most people who dream of opening a cafe never get past finding a space, raising the money, buying the equipment, and getting through permits. We've cleared every one of those. What's missing is the person who will run it, shape it, and own a real piece of what they build.

Not a manager. An owner.

OUR STORY

Hey, neighbor!

We’re Jon and Kylie — a husband and wife team who have lived in the neighborhood for nearly a decade, and yes, you guessed it… we love coffee!

In 2025, we bought the green building on the corner of Emerald and Huntingdon and set out to improve the already vibrant intersection in East Kensington. Though we saw potential from day one, we weren’t exactly sure what the space would become.

Then we started fixing it up. During that time, we met a lot of neighbors (and their dogs), many on their commute to and from the Huntingdon train station, and it became clear the block needed a spot for connection.

So, we carved out a space specifically for that! We call it Emerald Street Coffee, a service window (for now) cafe.

We're proud to be part of this community, and we want to bring you an exceptional experience. We know how to bring a building back to life, but running a great cafe takes a different kind of expertise. That's why we're looking for the right partner to make Emerald Street Coffee something special for decades to come.

A man and a woman smiling and standing close together outdoors in front of a green building with a window and a brick building in the background. The man is wearing a black jacket, shorts, two-tone socks, and a cap. The woman is wearing a light gray jacket, a blue shirt, and white pants.
A green painted building with two garage doors and a white door on an urban sidewalk, with leafless trees and a partly cloudy sky overhead.
View of a building with white textured walls, green storefront, and black sidewalk patio fencing. Potted plants and small trees are in front. Overhead power lines and leafy tree partially obscure the building. The street corner sign shows the intersection with a brick building and other city structures in the background.
